The Vande Bharat Express is set to run again between Howrah and New Delhi, passing through Dhanbad. This service is expected to operate six days a week, with preparations already underway for the launch.

The train will stop at key stations including Dhanbad, Gaya, Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay, Prayagraj, and Kanpur Central. Currently, the Howrah-New Delhi Rajdhani Express takes about 17 hours and 15 minutes, while the journey from Dhanbad to New Delhi takes around 14 hours and 5 minutes. The Vande Bharat Express aims to reduce travel time by 1.5 to 2 hours.

This train will cover the distance of 1449 kilometers in less than 15 hours. It is expected to ease passenger traffic on other trains like the Rajdhani and Duronto services that currently run via Dhanbad. The Vande Bharat will not operate on Sundays.

The Vande Bharat Express will initially have only AC chair car and executive class coaches. There is a plan to explore the option of adding sleeper coaches in the future. This new train will be the second Vande Bharat service to operate through Dhanbad.

Timings for the new service are nearly finalized from both Howrah and New Delhi. Approval from the Railway Board is expected within the next few days. This new service is anticipated to offer faster travel between the two major cities.
