Maruti Suzuki is getting ready to launch the 2026 model of its popular SUV, the Brezza. Recent images from testing show a major change in the design of the CNG variant. The company has moved the CNG cylinder from inside the boot to the underbody of the car. This change addresses the biggest complaint of CNG car owners regarding luggage space.
How does the Underbody CNG setup work?
According to the leaked images, the CNG tank in the new Brezza is mounted under the vehicle’s floor. This design allows the car to offer full boot space, similar to the petrol-only variants. To make space for this tank, Maruti has removed the spare wheel from the vehicle. This is similar to the technology seen in the Maruti Victoris, where the tank is placed outside the cabin to maximize storage.

The 2026 Brezza will continue to use the reliable 1.5-litre K15C petrol engine. The performance numbers remain consistent with the current model.
