Maruti Suzuki is getting ready to launch the 2026 model of its popular SUV, the Brezza. Recent images from testing show a major change in the design of the CNG variant. The company has moved the CNG cylinder from inside the boot to the underbody of the car. This change addresses the biggest complaint of CNG car owners regarding luggage space.

How does the Underbody CNG setup work?

According to the leaked images, the CNG tank in the new Brezza is mounted under the vehicle’s floor. This design allows the car to offer full boot space, similar to the petrol-only variants. To make space for this tank, Maruti has removed the spare wheel from the vehicle. This is similar to the technology seen in the Maruti Victoris, where the tank is placed outside the cabin to maximize storage.

Engine and Performance Details

The 2026 Brezza will continue to use the reliable 1.5-litre K15C petrol engine. The performance numbers remain consistent with the current model.

Specification Petrol Mode CNG Mode
Power 103 bhp 88 bhp
Torque 137 Nm 121.5 Nm
Mileage (Claimed) 25.51 km/kg

New Interior and Features

The interior of the 2026 model is expected to get significant upgrades. Reports suggest a larger 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system will replace the older unit. Other additions may include ventilated seats for better comfort and a power-adjustable driver seat. Safety features like six airbags and a 360-degree camera will likely continue to be part of the package.
