What are the design and features of this skywalk?

This is not a regular foot over bridge but a unique “zero-shaped” loop structure that will circle the busy roundabout. The skywalk will be 530 meters long and 4 meters wide, ensuring enough space for the heavy footfall in the area. To make it accessible for everyone, including the elderly, the design includes modern amenities confirmed by the architects.

  • Design: Loop configuration circling the Model Town roundabout.
  • Facilities: Escalators and two lifts at the Delhi-Meerut Expressway corners.
  • Approving Body: IIT Delhi recently approved the technical design.
  • Timeline: Construction is expected to finish within one year.

Which areas and commuters will benefit the most?

The skywalk will directly connect the existing Foot Over Bridge at Khoda Colony on the Delhi-Meerut Expressway to Noida’s Sector-62, Sector-63, and Chhijarsi area. Currently, pedestrians and auto-rickshaws clog the roundabout, causing delays for vehicles entering from the expressway. This project targets over 8 lakh daily commuters, especially those traveling to work in Noida from Ghaziabad, Delhi, Hapur, and Bulandshahr.
