Panic gripped Phusgarh village in Karnal district after unknown attackers opened fire at a house and a beauty parlor late at night. The incident took place around 1:30 AM on Wednesday, February 4, 2026. The targeted house belongs to Balkar Lather, who is currently living in the USA. His mother and wife were present inside the home when the firing started, leaving the family and neighbors in shock.

Details of the late night firing incident

According to the information available, two masked men arrived on a bike in the middle of the night. They fired about 4 to 5 rounds at the property. The bullets hit the iron shutter of the beauty parlor situated below the house and also shattered the glass windows. Some bullets pierced through the shutter and went inside the rooms.

Fortunately, there was no casualty reported in this attack. The family members, Rajpati (mother) and Seema (wife), were safe. The loud noise of gunshots woke up the neighborhood, creating fear among the villagers. This is the first time such a major incident has occurred in this area.

Police investigation and background details

Police officials, including Investigation Officer Satish Kumar and Sub-Inspector Vinod Kumar, reached the spot along with CIA and Dial 112 teams. Forensic experts have collected empty bullet shells from the scene. The police are currently scanning CCTV footage from the village and nearby roads to identify the bike-borne attackers.

Family members mentioned that Balkar Lather went to the USA three years ago via the ‘Donkey route’ by spending around 40-50 lakh rupees. They also stated that they had not received any ransom calls or threats before this incident. The police have registered a case against unknown persons and are investigating the motive behind the firing.
