The police stated that creating fear for monetary greed will not be tolerated. They emphasized that there is no organized gang involved in child abductions as suggested by these viral posts. Joint CP Sanjay Tyagi confirmed that the rumors are misleading the public regarding child safety.

According to official data released by the police for the first 15 days of January 2026, the situation is not as portrayed in the rumors. The police noted that many cases involve family disputes or academic pressure rather than abduction. The missing cases are actually declining compared to the previous year.
