A shocking hit-and-run incident took place in the Adarsh Nagar area of Gurugram on Friday morning. A speeding Scorpio SUV hit a 10-year-old girl who was walking to her school. The entire incident was recorded on a CCTV camera installed in the street. The driver did not stop to help the victim and fled the scene immediately after the collision.
How did the accident happen in Adarsh Nagar?
The victim has been identified as Vidhi, the daughter of Ramnath living in Adarsh Nagar. She was on her way to school in Jaikabpura around 8:30 AM when the incident occurred. The Scorpio driver was driving very fast inside the narrow residential alley. After hitting the girl from behind, the car also rammed into a parked scooter and other vehicles before escaping from the spot.
What action has the police taken?
Local residents immediately informed the family members about the accident. Vidhi was first rushed to a nearby private hospital for emergency care and was later shifted to a government hospital. The Sector 14 Police Station is investigating the matter and is examining the CCTV footage to identify the driver. Officials have stated that the accused will be arrested soon, though no one is in custody yet.
