A severe accident took place in Kota, Rajasthan, where a three-storey building collapsed on Saturday night. The incident occurred in the Indra Vihar area of Talwandi around 9:15 PM. Authorities have confirmed that a popular restaurant was operating in the building when it fell. Rescue teams and local officials reached the spot quickly to help the victims.
Casualties and immediate rescue updates
According to Rajasthan Cabinet Minister Madan Dilawar, two people have died in this tragic event. Rescue workers managed to save eight people from the debris immediately after the collapse. Around nine injured individuals were sent to the hospital, where some are still receiving treatment. There were fears that up to 20 people could be trapped, so the SDRF and police teams are using bulldozers to clear the site carefully.
Investigation ordered by officials
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has directed the administration to conduct a strict investigation into the cause of the collapse. Early reports indicate that construction activity on an adjacent plot may have weakened the foundation of this building. Witnesses claimed they heard a loud noise resembling a blast before the structure came down. The district administration will check land-use permits and safety code violations once the debris is fully cleared.
