How did the police catch the gang
The operation started after the police received specific information from an NGO called Association for Voluntary Action. The SHO of Dabri police station planned the raid and sent a policeman as a decoy customer to the suspect house. The officer went inside to deal with the managers and confirmed the illegal activities.
Once the signal was given, the police team raided the premises and caught the accused red-handed. Police arrested 10 individuals from the spot, which includes eight customers and two managers who were running the racket. An FIR has been registered under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at Dabri Police Station.
Victims were guarded by dogs
The investigation revealed that the girls were brought to Delhi from states like West Bengal, Assam, and Uttar Pradesh. The gang promised them good jobs but held them hostage upon arrival. The house was sealed from all sides to prevent escape. The accused also kept seven ferocious dogs in the open areas of the house at night to stop the girls from running away.
During the search, the police found one minor girl hiding inside a cupboard. She was found in a very traumatized state. All the rescued victims have been sent for counseling. The police seized evidence from the spot and are investigating further to find other members of this trafficking ring.
