Commuters travelling around Delhi University’s North Campus need to be careful today. The Delhi Traffic Police has released a traffic advisory for February 8, 2026, due to the 100th-year celebrations of Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC). Traffic congestion is expected in the area between 3:00 PM and 10:00 PM, and diversions have been put in place to manage the flow of vehicles. People are advised to use public transport to save time.

Which roads should you avoid?
According to the police advisory, general traffic movement will be affected on several key roads near the university. It is better to avoid Chhatra Marg, University Marg, Sudhir Bose Marg, and Guru Tegh Bahadur Marg during these hours. Traffic on Mall Road may also face restrictions. Police have set up diversion points at St. Stephen’s College Red Light, Hindu College Red Light, and Kranti Chowk to regulate the movement.
Important instructions for the public
The police have stated that emergency vehicles like ambulances will be allowed to pass without restrictions. However, strict action will be taken against wrong parking. Vehicles parked illegally on these routes will be towed away by cranes and legal action will follow. Students cannot take their vehicles inside the college campus during the event. To avoid getting stuck in jams, it is highly recommended to use the Metro or other public transport options.
