The police in Hapur have solved the brutal murder case of a woman named Reeta Sharma. Her husband, Rahul Sharma, has been arrested as the mastermind behind the crime. The incident took place in Mohammadpur-Rustampur village on the night of February 2, 2026. Rahul had hired two of his employees to kill his wife due to domestic disputes and financial stress.
Why did the husband plan this murder?
Rahul revealed shocking details during the police interrogation. He stated that his wife Reeta frequently abused his mother and sisters, which led to daily fights in the house. He was also under heavy stress due to the high expenses of her brain tumor treatment. Another major reason for his anger was that Reeta had given household jewelry to her parents without his consent.
How was the crime executed?
Rahul conspired with his employees, Sherali and Feroz, to carry out the killing. He promised them five lakh rupees and waived off their old debt of one lakh rupees. They decided on the code word “saree money” to discuss the plan. On the night of the murder, Rahul went to a wedding in Nanai village to create a fake alibi. The hired men entered the house, smothered Reeta with a blanket, and then stabbed her multiple times.
Police investigation and arrests
After the murder, Rahul called the police and claimed that robbers had killed his wife. However, the police did not find any evidence of forced entry or theft.
