A massive online shopping scam has surfaced under the name “Home Store 18,” operating out of Gurugram and impersonating the now-defunct HomeShop18 brand. Media investigations and consumer reports highlight that the website homestores18india.in is luring people with heavy discounts on premium brands, only to deliver fake products or deny refunds entirely. The entity lists its address in Udyog Vihar, Phase-1, Gurugram.

How does the Home Store 18 scam work?

The fraudulent platform attracts buyers by offering branded items like Bose headphones and smartwatches at 60% to 80% discounts. For instance, headphones with a market value of ₹20,000 are being sold for merely ₹5,999. They aggressively use advertisements on YouTube and Facebook, often displaying stolen unboxing videos from genuine influencers to build false trust.

Is it related to the original HomeShop18?

No, the legitimate HomeShop18 TV channel shut down its operations on May 24, 2019. The current website is an impersonator capitalizing on the old brand’s name. Official records show no connection between the original company and this new entity, which identifies itself as a partner of “Watch Pro.”

What is the refund policy trap?

The website uses a specific clause to reject almost all return requests. The policy states that returns are not accepted on sale items. Since nearly 100% of the inventory is listed as being on “Sale,” customers are technically barred from claiming refunds. Furthermore, even if a return is considered, the customer is asked to bear the shipping costs.
