The Special Vigilance Unit (SUV) has lodged an FIR against Amit Lodha, a 1998 batch IPS officer and former IG of Magadha region, in the court of Patna Vigilance Special Judge Manish Dwivedi, on the allegation of running commercial activities while in government service.

 

Allegation for 49.62 Lakhs

There is an allegation against Lodha that despite being a government servant, he made commercial agreements with Friday Story Teller Private Limited Company for web series with OTT platform Netflix. Due to this, he earned illegal income of more than Rs 49.62 lakh.

 

FIR lodged on Aditya Kumar’s complaint

In the investigation, SVU found that Amit Lodha had obtained Rs 12,000 from the production company for the first time by entering into an agreement with Friday Story Teller Pvt Ltd for Re 1. The remaining amount was transferred in different installments to his HDFC bank account. His conduct has been considered as corruption and financial irregularity done for personal interest and profit. The Superintendent of Police of the Special Monitoring Unit has given information about this by issuing a release. It is believed that this FIR has been registered on the complaint of former Gaya SSP Aditya Kumar.

DSP level officers will investigate

On December 7, a case was registered against IG rank officer IG Amit Lodha in the Special Monitoring Unit. Sections u/s 13 (1) (b), r/w 13 (2), r/w 12 of the PC Act and sections 120 (b) and 168 of the IPC Act have been imposed on them. DSP level officers will investigate this scandal. Monitoring suspects that the IG has acquired immense movable and immovable property through various means.

FIR on the basis of facts and evidence found in the investigation

The Superintendent of Police of SUV has said that the allegations against the former IG were investigated by the authorized agencies. Bihar Police Headquarters and the preferred authority reviewed this investigation report. After this, action was taken to register an FIR against Amit Lodha on the instructions of the Vigilance Department in the light of the facts and evidence found during investigation and verification.

The Bihar Diary

It is known that in 2017, Amit Lodha wrote a book named The Bihar Diary. The web series Khakee The Bihar Chapter based on this book is being streamed on Netflix these days. It is alleged that Amit had made a commercial agreement with Friday Story Teller Private Limited Company for the web series from Netflix regarding this.

Those who make films and invest money were also questioned

According to the information, the task of investigating this complaint received against Amit Lodha was entrusted to ADG (Law and Order). The investigation was being done as to which company is making the web series on the life of Amit Lodha and whose money has been invested in it? According to sources, someone from Gaya has invested money on this film, which has also been questioned by the investigating officers.
