The Punjabi music industry has once again been sent into a state of alarm following a chilling extortion attempt targeting one of its biggest stars. Singer and music composer B Praak has reportedly received a massive ransom demand of Rs 10 crore, prompting his close friend and fellow singer, Dilnoor, to rush to the authorities. The incident has triggered serious safety concerns, bringing the spotlight back on the vulnerability of artists to organized crime elements.

The Call That Changed Everything: “Arju Bishnoi” and a One-Week Deadline

According to the complaint filed with the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) in Mohali, the ordeal began quietly but quickly escalated into a nightmare. On January 5, Dilnoor noticed two missed calls from an international number, which he initially decided to ignore, thinking they were spam. However, the persistence of the caller became evident the very next day.

On January 6, another call came through from a different foreign number. Sensing something was wrong, Dilnoor hung up, but this was immediately followed by a voice message that revealed the caller’s sinister intentions. Identifying himself as “Arju Bishnoi,” the individual demanded a staggering sum of Rs 10 crore. The message was not just a demand but a direct threat, warning of “dire consequences” and serious harm to B Praak if the money wasn’t arranged within a strictly imposed deadline of one week.

Mohali Police Action: Tracking the International Trail

Taking no chances with the safety of the celebrated artist, Mohali police have officially registered the case and swung into action. The investigation is currently focused on tracing the digital footprint of the calls. Since the threats originated from international numbers—a common tactic used to evade local tracking—cyber cell experts are analyzing call records to pinpoint the location of the perpetrator.

Authorities are currently investigating two main angles: whether this is a genuine threat linked to organized extortion networks operating abroad, or an act of impersonation designed to capitalize on the fear associated with the “Bishnoi” gang name. While no arrests have been made as of now, security agencies have stepped in to assess the threat level and ensure the safety of both Dilnoor and B Praak while the investigation proceeds.

A Pattern of Fear? Other Artists Targeted

This incident does not appear to be an isolated event, raising fears of a coordinated effort to intimidate the Punjabi entertainment industry. Reports indicate that veteran singer Amar Noori has also reported receiving separate threats recently. The timing of these calls suggests a potential pattern, leading police to investigate if a specific gang is actively targeting high-profile figures in “Pollywood.”

The involvement of names linked to notorious syndicates has put the entire industry on edge. While fans are flooding social media with support for B Praak and Dilnoor, the police are urging patience as they work to unmask the face behind “Arju Bishnoi.”

What’s Next: The Mohali police are expected to share updates once the technical analysis of the foreign numbers is complete. Until then, security around the artists has likely been tightened to prevent any untoward incidents.
