What properties did the team find during the raid?
The investigation team found several expensive real estate holdings registered in the names of Gagan Singh’s family members. The search operation covered locations in Bhagalpur, Banka, and Deoghar. The vigilance officials were supported by local police during these checks.
- Bhagalpur: A flat in Satyam Apartment worth 35 lakhs, purchased in 2019 in the name of his wife, Neetu Singh.
- Banka: A large building with 12 residential flats, out of which 10 are currently rented out.
- Deoghar Market: A commercial warehouse was found in this busy area.
- Jharkhand: A four-story house located in Kalika Vihar, registered in his sister’s name.
- Ancestral Home: His family residence in Gulni Kushaha village was also searched.
How much illegal wealth was discovered?
The financial analysis showed a huge gap between what the clerk earned legally and what he actually owns. According to the vigilance report, his total legitimate income from salary and savings should be around 1.30 crore rupees. However, the value of his current assets stands at approximately 17 crore rupees.
Authorities have stated that he possesses illegal wealth amounting to 15.70 crore rupees. This amount is roughly 300 percent more than his known sources of income. The team also seized jewelry, cash, and important land registry documents during the operation. Legal proceedings are now active under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
